The stiff monofilament that took over professional tennis. One solid strand of polyester: low-powered, high-control, and the only family that reliably snaps back into place after impact, which is where its spin reputation comes from.

Worth knowing. It is the hardest family on the arm and the worst at holding tension in the database. Polyester goes dead long before it breaks, which is why poly setups need restringing on a schedule rather than on breakage.
